A huge split in the earth is what the Shimmering Rift is. It separates the Harlequin and Mountebank districts. It is rarely crossed, for there is no need and if it must be crossed any able-bodied dog can do it in a single bound. Steam rises from the depts, but it is unknown how far down it goes.
